AK Plaza

AK Plaza (Hangul: AK플라자), formerly Aekyung Department Store (Guro Main Store, Suwon Store) or Samsung Plaza (Bundang Store) is a South Korean department store franchise, owned by the Aekyung Group. It has four branches in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, including the former Samsung Plaza, a department store in Bundang once owned by the Samsung Group. In 2006, Aekyung Department Store bought Samsung Plaza. As the right to use the trademark "Samsung Plaza" expired in February 2009, the department store chain decided to use a new brand name, "AK Plaza" from March 2. The department store chain opened its fourth store in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do in April 2009.
